Lab5 started the way most meaningful things do — with a family, a frustration, and a vision. Finding quality graphic tees that actually honored Black history was harder than it should have been. So we decided to create the product we were always looking for — and build a brand worthy of the culture it represents.

Built on Belief

Lab5 was built on a belief: that what you wear should carry weight. Not just fabric and thread — but legacy, identity, and meaning. We started with this identity because our culture deserved to be worn loudly, carried proudly, and taken into every room.

We design pieces that do more than look good. They spark conversation. They honor legacy. They give visibility to the communities and movements that deserve to be seen — and remembered.

Why Lab5?

The name was created by our kids. The thought process is simple: we're in the lab, creating apparel that honors history, celebrates culture, and sparks conversation. Because what you wear should mean something.

Our ASL Collection was born from something personal. Our sister is Deaf — and all too often, her voice goes unheard. We decided to change that. From the raised fist to the signed hand, we celebrate the strength found in silence — and the movements it ignites.
